Obama Spring Break: Bahamas Vacation

No White House tours. There's not enough money.

Another vacation for the Obamas, with the taxpayers picking up the Secret Service bill?

No problem.

Sequester? What sequester?

From the Weekly Standard:

In the first three months of the year, members of the first family have been on three vacations, averaging a vacation a month. And now it's being reported that the first daughters are on a spring break vacation in the Bahamas.

The Obamas began the new year in Hawaii. "President Obama departed Hawaii this morning for Washington, after spending NINE days vacationing with family and friends in his native state. Here’s a quick look at how he spent his vacation," ABC reported on January 6, 2013.

"Obama played FIVE rounds of golf with SEVEN different partners, spending roughly THIRTY hours on TWO different courses on Oahu. The president made FIVE early morning trips to the gym at the nearby Marine Base at Kaneohe Bay. The First Family spent TWO afternoons enjoying the beach on the base and went for ONE hike to a local waterfall. The president spent ONE father-daughter afternoon with Malia and Sasha, bowling and going out for shave ice, an annual tradition."

Then the first lady and their daughters vacationed in Aspen over President's Day weekend. "First Lady Michelle Obama arrived in Aspen on Friday afternoon and is here with her daughters for a ski vacation," Aspendailynews.com reported in February.

...While the rest of the family was in Colorado, Obama went to Florida for a golf weekend. "It was not his motivation, certainly, but President Obama is honoring his modern predecessors on this Presidents’ Day weekend by doing what many of them liked to do on breaks: chill out in Florida with the guys — including, in his case, one of golf’s most famous guys, Tiger Woods," the New York Times reported in February.

And now it's being reported that the first daughters are on Spring Break in the Bahamas. "Sasha and Malia Obama are quietly vacationing at the Atlantis resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas, Breitbart News has learned," a report reads.
The Obamas are most definitely not feeling our pain.

As Breitbart reports, the media are ignoring the Obamas' lavish vacations while they slammed George W. Bush for mountain biking and clearing brush at his ranch.

Obama and his family are jetting around, lifestyles of the rich and famous.

But if your family planned to go to DC for a Spring Break vacation, forget about touring White House.

That's off limits to the little people.

The Obamas appear to think they can do whatever they want and not suffer any criticism whatsoever.

When it comes to the Leftists minions and the government dependents they've created, they're absolutely right.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz: DC Staffers and STARVATION

The sequester is hitting DC staffers hard.

According to Democrat Debbie Wasserman Schultz, they are on the brink of starvation.

From the Washington Times:

Automatic federal cuts are bringing staffers to the brink of starvation, suggested Debbie Wasserman Schultz, at a recent House Legislative Branch Appropriations Subcommittee hearing.

Restaurants on the House side of Congress are increasing in cost so much that aides are being “priced out” of a good meal, she said, as Fox News reported. The comments came by way of a discussion about the impacts of the sequester on lawmakers’ office budgets.

...Just to clarify: An 8-ounce bowl of Ham and Bean soup at the Cannon Office Building’s carry-out café costs $2. A gourmet wrap or sliced bread sandwich sells for about $5. And in the Longworth Building’s sit-down cafeteria, a serving of stuffed chicken, asparagus and mashed potatoes sells for about $7, Fox News finds.

Meanwhile, Ms. Wasserman Schultz’s staffers earn between $60,000 and $160,000 per year, Fox News reports.
This woman cannot be taken seriously.

Joe Biden spends nearly $600,000 of our money on his hotel bill for a one-night stay in Paris, while staffers can't afford to eat.

Ridiculous. What a bunch of buffoons!

I wish Americans would wake the hell up.

Biden's Hotel Bill

The Obama administration is disgraceful on so many levels.

The revelation that Joe Biden spent over one million dollars of the people's money on his hotel bills during a trip to London and a one-night stay in Paris.

From the Weekly Standard:

As it turns out, Vice President Joe Biden's London stay in February was not the most expensive part of his trip. A government document released on February 14, 2013 shows that the contract for the Hotel Intercontinental Paris Le Grand came in at $585,000.50.
UNBELIEVABLE.

There's more, from the Weekly Standard:

Vice President Biden and his entourage spent a little time in London in early February during his first foreign trip of the second term of the Obama administration. A document released today revealed that the cost of lodging in London alone was close to half a million dollars. The contract was awarded on January 30, 2013 to the Hyatt Regency London for a total of $459,388.65.
This is utterly unacceptable. There is absolutely no justification for this sort of spending.

I am royally ticked off, not only at Obama and his fellow Leftists but also at my fellow Americans who voted to reelect this malevolent ruler.

Everything could be so different right now if Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan had been elected.

This all sucks. ALMOST $600,000 FOR BIDEN'S ONE-NIGHT STAY IN PARIS!!! And that's only the hotel bill. It doesn't include the cost of flying him around.

Hey, Leftists! See the disconnect here???

No??? Didn't think so.

The Obama administration is releasing prisoners, furloughing employees, shutting down the White House tours, and now, closing air control towers.

But there is no shortage of taxpayer funds to send Biden and his entourage to live high in Europe.

That is such BS.

It's shocking that Obama has the audacity to make the "little people" suffer because of his sequester while he's pissing away so much of OUR money.

Budget cuts... GIVE ME A BREAK! One million freaking dollars for Biden's hotel!

We know what Obama and his flunkies are doing. They're hurting us and they don't care at all. They're playing political games, making us suffer while they're living the high life.

What lying sacks of really bad stuff!

SNL: Sequester (Video)

Saturday Night Live opened by mocking Obama and the Democrats' "apocalypse now" sequester warnings.

Maybe some from the old guard at SNL determined it was time to stop being an arm of the state-run, Obama-controlled media.

Maybe Kevin Hart, a real comedian and last weekend's host, thought it would be a good idea to actually laugh at the person in power.

The historic move of allowing Obama to be in a protective bubble has been a big mistake in terms of comedy. The president has always been ridiculed, certainly by SNL, until Obama took office.

It's time for the entertainers and the networks, especially 5th place NBC, to stop shilling for Obama.

WWBHD - What would Bob Hope do?

WWJCD - What would Johnny Carson do?

They would be telling jokes about Obama.

It's the American way.

Maxine Waters: 170 Million Jobs Lost

According to Maxine Waters, sequestration will obliterate American jobs. It's going to be so bad that we're going to lose 30 million more jobs than we have in the first place.

From Breitbart's Big Government:

Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) had a dire prediction for America about sequestration, claiming that 170 million jobs would be lost as a result of the across-the-board cuts. But according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are only about 140 million jobs in the whole country.

...During a press conference on February 28, Waters told reporters of a visit by Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke who told members of congress that sequestration is not the optimal way to cut the federal budget.

Talking of Bernanke's comments, Waters claimed that "if sequestration takes place, that’s going to be a great setback. We don’t need to be having something like sequestration that’s going to cause these jobs losses, over 170 million jobs that could be lost."

However, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Table A-9, Selected Employment Indicators, in January of 2013 there were 141,614 million jobs in the current American economy.

Using Waters' math, the US would lose about 30 million more jobs than it had to start with.
Just a few days ago, speaking abroad on his first official trip as secretary of state, John Kerry touted the democratic institutions in a NONEXISTENT country.

As Kerry said, in America, we have the right to be stupid.

Now, Waters claims budget cuts will mean jobs that don't EXIST will be lost, 30 million of them.

What brilliance!

Here's video of Waters making a fool of herself:

Leno: Rick Perry and Sequestration

Comedians have always joked about the president.

Regardless of political party affiliation, the person in power has been the butt of jokes. The president's activities and policies are fodder for punch lines.

As we know, Obama has been spared ridicule. It's a rare, rare thing when Obama is mocked by a late night talk show host or guest. It just doesn't happen.

Last night, I had the misfortune of hearing a bit of Jay Leno's monologue.

He actually chose to mock Rick Perry on the topic of sequestration. RICK PERRY!

The joke involved Perry not understanding sequestration and mistaking it for Ryan Seacrest.

It's absolutely pathetic that Leno reaches back to Perry rather than focusing on Obama. Leno mentioned Obama in a joke but it ripped FOX News rather than the guy in the White House.

Obama offers so much material that Leno and those of his ilk could be using, but they protect him. He's untouchable. It's not normal.

The Leftist comedians didn't spare Bill Clinton. Why does Obama get a pass? It's never happened before.

I've heard many say that Obama isn't funny. He's so cool. He's so perfect. Jokes aren't there.

Now, that is funny.

You'd think the Leftist comedians would end their self-imposed moratorium on jokes directed at the sitting president. Getting a laugh is the goal.

Rick Perry. Unbelievable.

Walker Budget: Residency Requirement

From Governor Scott Walker’s 2013 Budget Address Speech:
Tonight, I want to share with each of you our ambitious plans to help more people live the American Dream—right here in Wisconsin.

Our focus is simple—more prosperity, better performance and true independence.

Going into this budget, we face a much different set of circumstances than we did two years ago. At the start of 2011, Wisconsin faced a $3.6 billion budget deficit and the unemployment rate was 7.8 percent. At the time, I stated that moderation and frugality in government would lead to freedom and prosperity for our people.

Two years later and Wisconsin has a budget surplus and our unemployment rate is down to 6.6 percent. It wasn't easy, but we're turning Wisconsin around.
"Our focus is simple—more prosperity, better performance and true independence."

That is simple.

The Leftists, of course, have a problem with that.

True dependence is their goal. It's their path to power.

True choice is the enemy of the Leftists, unless of course the "choice" is to kill an unborn child.

Like the failed mayor of Milwaukee and three-time Wisconsin gubernatorial loser, Tom Barrett, the Leftists believe municipal employees should be bound by a residency requirement. No choice.

From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

As part of his budget, Gov. Scott Walker is calling for the statewide elimination of residency laws that require municipal employees to live in the city or village where they work.

The governor also said he wanted to freeze property taxes, except for new construction, and hold the line on any new shared revenue or new transportation aid.

The sweeping proposal on residency laws - a single sentence in Walker's budget - would affect an estimated 127 municipalities across the state, including Milwaukee, the state's largest city.

Under Walker's plan, local units of government, including school districts like Milwaukee Public Schools, and counties would not be able to institute or enforce residency requirements for current or prospective employees.

Walker had been widely expected to propose ending residency rules in Milwaukee, but it was unclear until Wednesday that he wanted to end the residency rules throughout the state.

In Milwaukee, the law has been on the books for 75 years.

Both the Milwaukee Police Association and Milwaukee Professional Firefighters' Local 215 had sought to end the residency rule in previous years.

In an interview, Mayor Tom Barrett said he didn't believe the governor's budget "should be used for political payback purposes."

"There's no question he's doing it at the behest of the Milwaukee Police Association and Firefighters Local 215," Barrett said. "They're the driving force behind this because they supported him."
Poor Tom. He has to deflect from his failures by accusing Gov. Walker of political payback. Pathetic.

The Leftists are terrified of people being free. They're into control. Individual freedom runs counter to their ideology.

The fact is the elimination of residency rules has been debated for ages. It's an antiquated policy that now functions to prop up Barrett's decaying Milwaukee.

People shouldn't be forced to live there because they happen to be employed by the city. They should want to make it their home because of the great quality of life it offers. Good schools and safe, stable neighborhoods, affordable taxes, and low crime make an area a desirable place to live.

Why are the Leftists afraid of lifting the residency requirement?

They fear a mass exodus of taxpayers.

If they had confidence in the city as a wonderful place to live and raise a family, they would have nothing to fear.

In effect, they believe the city is a hellhole people would escape if they could.

...Nationwide, there is no reliable data on what happened in cities where the residency rule was either loosened or dropped altogether.

...In Detroit there was a mass exodus of people when the residency law was repealed in 1999. But a host of other factors - a deteriorating economy, crime and a poor education system - also led Detroiters to flee in large numbers.
"[A] deteriorating economy, crime and a poor education system" are identified as reasons Detroit citizens fled when the residency requirement was lifted in 1999.

That "host of other factors" sounds a lot like Milwaukee in 2013. Don't the media Leftists recognize that? Wake up!

Instead of Barrett whining about political payback, he should get the city moving in the right direction or get out of the way. If he refuses to be held accountable for his awful leadership and miserable record, the people of Milwaukee should elect a mayor who will work to really improve the city.

Restore its health. The city can thrive again. The life support of the residency requirement is not a solution.
