Dan Kildee and Obama

Obama has a terrible mean streak.

We've been treated to many glimpses of the real Obama, the very uncool guy.

He's not only arrogant, but he's also cold and cruel.

The president of the United States should not mock Special Olympics athletes. Doing so on national TV during an interview with Jay Leno is inexcusable. He did that in March 2009, just a couple of months into his presidency. He displayed incredibly poor judgment to think that was funny.

The man does and says horrible things. He treats people with such disdain, even his political allies. No one should dare question the great and powerful Obama.

From Roll Call:

At a closed-door meeting between President Barack Obama and House Democrats, Kildee introduced himself as a freshman, to which Obama said, “Wow, you’re really classing up the place then.”

Kildee then proceeded to ask what one person described as a somewhat “long-winded” question about the importance of creating jobs for his economically distraught district.

“I can tell you’re a freshman because you didn’t pay much attention to the State of the Union,” Obama joked. “I talked about that.”

Amid the resulting laughter, House Democratic Caucus Chairman Xavier Becerra of California then offered to provide Kildee a printout of the speech.

Obama was referring to his $1 billion proposal for 15 manufacturing “innovation centers,” the details of which are still somewhat hazy.

Actually, though, the joke was on Obama: On Wednesday, Kildee had met with the White House legislative affairs team about the innovation centers proposal, so he was quite familiar with it.

And his question was broader, about what types of reforms are necessary to reform decaying urban centers like Flint, Mich., which Kildee represents.

Bottom line: Obama is not the smartest guy in the room, at least not in that room. Obama is stunningly self-centered. Obama is a jerk. I say that with all due respect.

'Walking in a Welfare Wonderland'

Listen to another Christmas tune featuring Baracka Claus.

"Welfare Wonderland"

Lyrics:
Cell phones ring
Are you listening
Every day
Less are working
A beautiful sight
That offends the Right
Walkin' in my welfare wonderland

Gone away
Is employment
Here to stay
Is your enjoyment
I did it because
Of capitalism's flaws
Walkin' in my welfare wonderland

In the meadow we can build a snowman
And pretend that he is Parson Brown
He'll say "Are you married?"
You'll say "No, man"
I'll lose my benefits if I ever get tied down

Later on
You'll perspire
As you drink
By the fire
With the hobos and clowns
Who wander downtown
Walkin' in my welfare wonderland

Walkin' in my welfare wonderland
Walkin' in my welfare wonderland
Parody performed by the great Paul Shanklin.

Obama's Economy and Tide

This commercial for Tide laundry detergent is based on the premise that a lot of parents can relate to the experience of having their adult children, college graduates but jobless, move back home to live with them.

That doesn't say much for the state of the economy and the value of a college education.

Life in Obama's America - it's not good.

Buy Tide to help ease the pain.

The Last of the Twinkies

Hostess history?

Oh, NOOOOOOOO!

From the Associated Press:

Hostess Brands Inc., the maker of iconic childhood treats including Ding Dongs, Wonder Bread and Drakes, is winding down its operations after struggling to keep up with rising labor costs and the ever-changing tastes of Americans, who have grown accustomed to a dizzying array of new snacks flooding supermarket aisles every year.

The company, whose roster of brands date as far back as 1888, filed a motion to liquidate Friday with U.S. Bankruptcy Court after striking workers across the country crippled its ability to maintain production.

Hostess CEO Greg Rayburn said in an interview that there was no buyer waiting in the wings to rescue the company. But without giving details, he said that there has been interest in some of its 30 brands, which include Dolly Madison and Nature's Pride snacks. Experts agreed that it was likely the biggest brands would survive.

...The shuttering of Hostess means the loss of about 18,500 jobs. Hostess said employees at its 33 factories were sent home and operations suspended Friday. Its roughly 500 bakery outlet stores will stay open for several days to sell remaining products.

The move to liquidate comes after a long battle with its unions. Thousands of members of the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union went on strike last week after rejecting a contract offer that slashed wages and benefits. The bakers union represents about 30 percent of the company's workforce.
And the unions win their battle with Hostess.

What an accomplishment!

Goodbye, 18,500 jobs.

More than 180 Wisconsin workers could lose Hostess jobs.

Goodbye, Wonder Bread.

So many sandwiches. So many hot dog and hamburger buns.

Goodbye, Ho Hos.

My grade school brown bag lunch: Milk, sandwich, apple or orange, Ho Ho.

Goodbye, Twinkies.

A world without Twinkies?

Very sad.

Way to go, unions. Way to go.

Get 'em while you can, the last of the Twinkies.

Jobless Claims Up

It's been less than two weeks since Obama was reelected.

What's happened?

The stock market has plunged.

War is bubbling up in the Middle East.

And the economy sucks worse than Obama and his hacks admitted.

From Joel B. Pollak, Breitbart's Big Government:

The Department of Labor has announced that new jobless claims rose by a staggering 78,000 in the first week after the election, reaching a seasonally-adjusted total of 439,000. Over the past year, and in the weeks leading up to the election, jobless claims were said to be declining, dipping as low as 339,000, with the media proclaiming that they had reached the "lowest level in more than four years." Now, suddenly, the news seems far less rosy.

From the Department of Labor press release this morning:
In the week ending November 10, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 439,000, an increase of 78,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 361,000. The 4-week moving average was 383,750, an increase of 11,750 from the previous week's revised average of 372,000.
Some of the new claims, especially in New Jersey, were due to Hurricane Sandy--but these were offset by a decline in claims filed in New York. The highest numbers of new filings came from Pennsylvania and Ohio, where there were thousands of layoffs in the construction, manufacturing, and automobile industries.
The question: How the hell did Obama get reelected?

Four more years, of THIS?

Nauseating.

Frightening.

Obama Tweet: 'Eliminating' Bin Laden

Obama sent this message and image out on Twitter:
President Obama ordered the raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound, eliminating the man responsible for the 9/11 attacks: pic.twitter.com/Ok6WTP9D

This is the 11th hour message from Obama's campaign?

Oh, good grief.

What a gutsy call!

GIVE ME A BREAK!

If Obama and his hacks think that this election is about bin Laden, they're delusional.

Ask anyone out of work or underemployed, if they had to choose between getting a job and "eliminating" bin Laden, which would they want?

If Obama wants credit for killing bin Laden, then he damn well should take responsibility for what happened in Benghazi on 9/11/12, and cough up the freaking truth already.

Are You Better Off Than Four Years Ago?

Hovde: Eight Things About Obama

Eric Hovde, former candidate for the U.S. Senate, has paid for the following ad.

Right Wisconsin reports, "It's running in almost every daily in the state."

EIGHT THINGS TO CONSIDER ABOUT PRESIDENT OBAMA BEFORE THE ELECTION

By Eric Hovde
1. President Obama has added $6 trillion of debt. Every adult and child owes over $51,525.

2. This debt is causing the Federal Reserve to print money, which is devaluing our dollar. The price of gas was $1.84 when Obama took office and has since doubled. The cost to feed a family has increased by 31%.

3. Since January 2009, the average household income has decreased $4,019.

4. 8.2 million Americans have given up looking for work, and the real unemployment rate is 14.7%.

5. President Obama has passed at least 106 rules and regulations that cost more than $46 billion annually - another burden on our small businesses and job creators.

6. ObamaCare will burden Americans with at least 12 new tax increases, which will cost each family over $2,500 annually.

7. Fraud has exploded under President Obama. Our healthcare sector alone is estimated to have $750 billion in waste and fraud.

8. Despite all this, President Obama has held only two Cabinet meetings this year - yet has attended over 250 fundraisers.
Our economy cannot handle another 4 years of President Obama.

You have a stark choice: a president who has given us failed economic policies or Mitt Romney, a leader with more experience in economics and the private sector than any presidential candidate in history.

I hope you put aside the political spin, look at the facts, and make the right decision because it will profoundly affect your life.

Romney: Binders Full of Women

Obama's supporters, at least the ones that yap on TV and the ones spouting on social networking cites, can be entertaining.

They latch on to something goofy and think it will turn Americans against Mitt Romney.

Obama and his team are like-minded, on the same page as their goofy supporters.

After the first presidential debate, they believed Mitt Romney's fatal mistake was mentioning Big Bird.

Only a few nights ago, I saw the Big Bird ad on the air.

Obviously, it was a losing strategy.

Now, after Tuesday's debate, the Obama camp is hyping a new line from Mitt Romney - "binders full of women."

Romney's use of that phrase was supposed to be the revelation that exposed him to be the enemy of American women.

"Binders full of women" was going to send American women running back to Obama.

How thoroughly idiotic!

There was nothing offensive about what Mitt Romney said, nothing condescending as the Leftists continue to claim. To the contrary, he was illustrating his support for women when discussing the process of assembling his cabinet as governor of Massachusetts.

Debate Transcript

MS. CROWLEY: Governor Romney, pay equity for women.

MR. ROMNEY: Thank you. And — important topic and one which I learned a great deal about, particularly as I was serving as governor of my state, because I had the — the chance to pull together a Cabinet and all the applicants seemed to be men. And I — and I went to my staff, and I said, how come all the people for these jobs are — are all men?

They said, well, these are the people that have the qualifications. And I said, well, gosh, can’t we — can’t we find some — some women that are also qualified?

And — and so we — we took a concerted effort to go out and find women who had backgrounds that could be qualified to become members of our cabinet. I went to a number of women’s groups and said, can you help us find folks? And I brought us whole binders full of — of women. I was proud of the fact that after I staffed my cabinet and my senior staff that the University of New York in Albany did a survey of all 50 states and concluded that mine had more women in senior leadership positions than any other state in America.
Romney states that he was able to find lots of qualified women for his cabinet. That's a good thing.

There is nothing insensitive or condescending or even awkward about Romney's use of "binders full of women."

That didn't keep Obama supporters from going nuts. The term went viral.

Read: "Mitt Romney remark, 'binders full of women,' becomes Internet sensation after debate with Obama."

How stupid are these Leftists?

Apparently, very.

The debate question was about pay equity for women.

To be blunt, Obama's record on that sucks.

Read: Democrats focus on equal pay issue while Obama White House pays women less.

Beyond Obama's inequities for women in his White House, Obama's sinking economy is responsible for misery experienced by women in all walks of American life.

One more thing--

Since Roe v. Wade, 1973, over fifty million babies have been aborted. At least 25 million of those babies were female. Imagine the list of 25 million names, "binders full of women," slaughtered before they were born.

That's a rather staggering image, isn't it?

Bottom line: Obama and his supporters are hypocrites. They are not to be taken seriously.

Obama: Cult of Personality Fundraising Email

When Obama appeals for cash, he doesn't talk about his record, all his successes.

Why?

Because his record as president is terrible. Talking about all the promises he failed to keep would amount to pounding nails in his political coffin.

Obama doesn't say, "Vote for me, because you're better off today than you were four years ago."

Obama NEVER asks, "Are you better off than four years ago?"

He can't, because the answer is NO!

So, when Obama wants donations, he uses lame scare tactics, like his positively goofy, phony, degrading War on Women.

Obama also pulls embarrassing stunts like trying to rekindle the dying embers of  the 2008 romance, seducing potential donors with images that cry out, "I know you still love me."

One such fundraising email arrived yesterday.

Obama - Biden
Mary --

Today is the last FEC fundraising deadline of this campaign, and there's never been a more important time to donate.

Let's keep these two in the White House for four more years -- donate $5 or more before midnight.

Thanks,

Obama for America
This has to be the lamest appeal.

"Let's keep these two in the White House for four more years"?

"THESE TWO"?

Why?

We're talking about choosing the president of the United States, not renewing a sitcom or a reality show for a few more seasons, not filming a sequel of a movie.

These pictures are supposed to convince people to give their money to Obama's campaign.

How absurd!

Clearly, Obama's campaign is playing on his contrived, celebrity persona, not his ability to lead and produce results that help the American people and strengthen our country.

Sure, we'll keep suffering and struggling under Obama's hellish economy,  and we don't mind cover-ups and lies about a terrorist attack on our country, as long as we get to see that irresistable, charismatic couple, Barack and Michelle.  Yeah, we'll do that.

No job? No problem. Drop out of reality and just dream about Barack and Michelle.

Any voter swayed to part with their cash and send it to Obama, based on those pictures and the meaningless line, "Let's keep these two in the White House for four more years," is a fool.

Mitt Romney: Holding Obama Accountable

Obama made promises he did not keep.

Time to hold him accountable.

Obama and Michelle: Warriors for the Middle Class

Can you relate to the Obamas' lifestyle?

MICHELLE OBAMA: If any family in this country struggles, then we cannot be fully content with our own family’s good fortune, because that is not what we do in this country. That is not who we are. That is not who we are.
Pretty words, but empty ones.

We don't need words. We need jobs.

Paul Ryan - Fiscal Discipline

Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are promoting a plan of fiscal discipline to get our country back on track.

What do we get from Obama and Biden?

Smirks and guffaws, in addition to $16 trillion in debt, four straight years of $1 trillion-plus deficits, and at least 41 straight months of unemployment over 8 percent.

Ed Flynn Interview (Video)

TMJ4's Carole Meekins interviewed Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn.

They discussed the strip search scandal and the Derek Williams case. They discuss the demand for Flynn's resignation by some in Milwaukee's African American community.

Here's raw video:

Flynn relays compassion and understanding. He does not come off as an arrogant, uncaring man. He explains his actions and he takes responsibility for them.

I don't get why Flynn is being targeted by some in the community and by outlets like the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. It's such a weird campaign of personal destruction. It's misdirected. It's unfair.

It ticks me off that Tom Barrett, cowering mayor of Milwaukee, is letting Flynn take so much heat without offering more support.

Barrett is taking cover rather than being a leader.

It would be a great loss for the steadily decaying city of Milwaukee if Flynn were to leave.

I hate to think of how bad things would be without his leadership.

Certainly, there are cases of misconduct and abuse by police officers. Some are horrific. Some are criminal. Justice must be done in those cases. But, it's wrong to condemn the entire department and the Chief because of the actions of a few.

What really poses a threat to people living in Milwaukee?

It's not the police department. Flynn doesn't pose a danger to any community in the city. The economic conditions in Milwaukee, unemployment through the roof and the ensuing poverty, are much more threatening to the overall quality of life for all.

Failing schools are a far greater menace than anything done or not done by the MPD.

It makes more sense to me to demand jobs rather than Flynn's resignation.

Options other than a life of dependency on government or a life of crime are needed. All the energy being put into this witch hunt could be channeled into constructive efforts to better the community.

Maybe that's why the media are obsessing on Flynn now. It deflects attention away from the economic misery in Obama's America, specifically Milwaukee.

The Leftists don't want to talk about the real problems before the election.

Ed Flynn is the local version of Big Bird.

Leno: Obama and Unemployment

JAY LENO: The good news for the White House is unemployment has dropped to 7.8 percent, right where it was when President Obama took office. So, Obama's gone from 'Change you can believe in' to 'Can you believe there's no change?'

Wednesday, October 10, 2012

Romney: Helping the Middle Class

Need hope and change?
The choice between President Obama and Mitt Romney is clear. Under the President's policies, middle-income Americans have been buried. Mitt Romney will bring tax rates down and get Americans working again.

September Jobs Survey: False Results

J.D. Foster, Ph.D., explains that sometimes surveys produce results that are inaccurate.
The federal government runs two main jobs surveys. The payroll survey queries employers and is more reliable mostly because it is a fairly large sample. The second survey queries households and is much smaller, but provides a different look at the employment picture. The household survey also generates the unemployment rate. Typically, the two surveys disagree somewhat month-to-month, but track fairly well with one another over longer periods of time, because over longer periods of time, the small size of the household survey matters less and less.

Because they are samples, there are margins of error around the reported figures, just as political polls are reported with margins of error. The larger the sample, the smaller the margin of error, but what this really means is that with a substantial probability, the true figure lies within the margin of error.

Probabilities are not certainties, however. If a survey reports a margin of error with a 90 percent probability, this also means that one time out of 10, the correct figure will be much lower or much higher. Even a 99 percent probability means that one time out of 100, the true figure will be much different than the reported figure. One time out of 100 means about once every eight years for a monthly survey.

What seems to have occurred with the September household survey is that one time in 100. The household survey, a relatively small sample, reported an astounding 418,000 jobs jump in the labor force at a time when it has been steadily shrinking, and the survey reported an 873,000 jobs jump in employment at a time when the economy is stumbling.

...[T]he last time the household survey showed such a huge jump in employment was in 1983 during the Reagan-era economic boom. Today’s economy does not look much like the Reagan boom.
Foster is confident the September numbers will be shown to be inaccurate.

If the survey is not reversed, we'll know the Obama administration is manipulating the numbers.

The September household survey is one to set aside to wait for a more reliable report next month, which will almost certainly reverse the odd results from September. If it does, then we have both confirmation of the power of statistics and of the weakness in the economy. If the next household survey is like the September survey, however, then we will know the Obama Administration was playing games with the numbers as alleged. The odds against two such anomalous reports back-to-back are not 100 to 1, but 10,000 to one, or about once in 800 years.
I think... No, I know Obama and the Democrats are more than willing to lie to the American people.

I wouldn't be surprised if they try to uphold their September jobs lies.

We know they are liars.

Benghazi.
