Ron Johnson: Victims of Government

From The Daily Caller:
Wisconsin Republican Sen. Ron Johnson on Tuesday unveiled the first installment of a new project aimed at demonstrating how big government hurts average Americans.

“The root cause of our economic and fiscal problems is the size, the scope, and the cost of government – all the rules, all the regulations, and all the government intrusion into our lives,” Johnson said in a statement.

Johnson is encouraging other Americans to bring him their own stories of government overreach and burdensome regulations.

“Over-regulation consumes massive amounts of the people’s money, too often lacks common sense, has no heart, costs jobs and economic growth,” Johnson added.

Jim Carrey and Greg Gutfeld

On The Five Monday, Greg Gutfeld really unleashed on Jim Carrey and his new song, "Cold Dead Hand." Carrey's anti-gun video mocks gun owners and mercilessly targets the late Charlton Heston.

Before releasing the video, Carrey tweeted on Sunday:

'Cold Dead Hand' is abt u heartless motherf%ckers unwilling 2 bend 4 the safety of our kids.Sorry if you're offended by the word safety! ;^}

GREG GUTFELD: He is probably the most pathetic tool on the face of the earth, and I hope his career is dead. And I hope he ends up sleeping in a car the way his life began. This video only made me want to go out and buy a gun. He thinks this is biting satire - going after rural America and a dead man.

Let's talk about Charlton Heston. Charlton Heston was one of the first actors to be behind the civil rights movement and march. What did this jackass Jim Carrey do? He was behind the anti-vaccine panic. There's 160,000 people that died from measles last year according to the World Health Organization. Jim Carrey has killed more people than all the rifles combined.

He's a dirty, stinking coward. He's a moral coward that did a video attacking rural America. He wouldn't do a video about gangs, which kills way more people with handguns. He wouldn't do that because he's too worried about his career. He's such a pathetic, sad little freak. He's a gibbering mess. He's a modern bigot. He's a modern bigot. He's a bottomless pit of insecurity, and the desire for acceptance is why he's doing this because he knows in his heart that he's a fraud.

The Charlton Heston thing is the thing. Here was a great man who is dead and cannot defend himself. This little dirtbag, this little nobody...

...He's as edgy as a Frisbee.

...He insulted a bunch of people and then he ran like a little baby. He's such a little, sad freak.
I'd like to hear Carrey's response to this.

He should do a video about gang violence or violent video games or the violent trash produced by Hollywood. If he had a spine he would.

Like Gutfeld, this video, as well as all the other bullying lately over guns, has only served to make me want to get a gun.

Bottom line: Carrey epitomizes the worst of Hollywood Leftists.

Remembering Andrew Breitbart

It's hard to believe it's been one year since Andrew Breitbart passed away. It doesn't seem possible.

Here in Wisconsin, we all remember the insanity of early 2011. Breitbart was here, helping us fight to save our state.

When doctors in Madison were handing out fraudulent medical excuses to teachers and others skipping work to protest Gov. Scott Walker's reforms, Breitbart was there. He had no problem being diagnosed with "Walker pneumonia."

Ed Flynn and Lindsey Graham (Video)

Ed Flynn goes to Washington.

Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn went to DC to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee. He advocated banning some guns.

From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

Testifying at a U.S. Senate hearing Wednesday, Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn called on Congress to pass a ban on new sales of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines to civilians, saying “our nation’s cities are enduring slow-motion mass murder every single year.”

Flynn was one of several witnesses to appear at the Senate Judiciary Committee’s hearing on “The Assault Weapons Ban of 2013,” a bill authored by Democrat Dianne Feinstein of California.

Flynn cited Milwaukee crime data and invoked specific incidents in the city in recent years involving the use of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. He said that in less than three years, seven of his officers were shot with assault rifles or semi-automatic weapons.

"How many people have to get murdered in a mass murder for it to be enough?" Flynn said toward the end of his testimony, invoking the Newtown, Conn., massacre in December.

"Is 20 babies enough to say these implements of murder should not be distributed? That's what we're asking!" Flynn said in comments that drew applause from those in the audience who were there to support the bill. Flynn also engaged in some pointed exchanges with at least one Republican on the panel, South Carolina Republican Lindsey Graham.

...When Graham, the South Carolina Republican, asked Flynn how many cases he had pursued against people who failed background checks, Flynn responded sharply:

“We don’t make those cases. We have priorities. We have gun cases. We make 2,000 gun cases a year … We’re trying to prevent the wrong people from buying guns,” Flynn said. “We don’t chase paper, we chase armed criminals.”
Flynn was testy, like he was channeling his inner Tom Barrett (failure as mayor of Milwaukee and 3-time loser to be governor of Wisconsin).

I know this is just a clip but Flynn doesn't come off like a composed, confident expert on the matter.

In this video, it seemed that Flynn would have preferred to blow a vuvuzela than address Graham's point.

Flynn's obviously scripted sound bite, "We don't chase paper, we chase armed criminals," appeared to be his big line meant to counter background checks.

It fell flat as Graham questioned him in a calm, logical manner.

So Flynn admits that "paper," meaning background checks, are ineffective? He appears to argue that they're irrelevant, that he doesn't care about them. But then, he turns around and insists, "We're trying to prevent the wrong people from buying guns."

OK, how do we determine the "wrong people"?

I guess Flynn is saying that ALL citizens are "wrong people" when it comes to particular weapons.

Tony Kushner, 'Lincoln' Screenwriter, and Reagan Ideology

In an interview with Charlie Rose, Tony Kushner, screenwriter of the Oscar-nominated film Lincoln, reveals that he is positively delusional.

History tells us that Mary Todd Lincoln suffered from mental illness. There are questions about Abraham Lincoln's mental status, too. Is Kushner's break with reality an illness or is it the result of pure ignorance?

He calls the Ronald Reagan's view of the relationship between government and the people as "frightening," resulting in "psychotic individualism."

Say what???

Kushner bashes Reagan and conservatives, as well as Mitt Romney, as rejecting the "human community." He blasts the Tea Party. He equates Obama with Lincoln.

Crazy.

I have yet to see Lincoln. I wanted to see it, but it's going to be tough to watch knowing that the insufferable Kushner views Obama as similar to the president charged with serving during the CIVIL WAR. I knew Kushner is a liberal but I didn't realize he's as nuts as he is.

Does the movie include the fact that Lincoln wanted to return freed slaves to Africa? Does it present such documented facts?

Robert Bork R.I.P.

Judge Robert Bork passed away today.

Michelle Malkin writes:

Judge Robert Bork, former Supreme Court nominee, legal scholar, and the conservative movement’s champion of originalism, died early this morning after a long battle with heart and pulmonary complications. His family reports that the funeral will be held on Saturday.

Bork endured one of the most vicious, coordinated attacks from the Left during his Reagan-era SCOTUS confirmation fight.

It appears that when the full site of Right Wisconsin launches soon, there will be a subscriber fee, at least for some content. That's a guess.




I haven't heard anything about subscriber fees. I know no details, but there seem to be hints that the full site won't be accessible for free. Hope I'm wrong. Don't think I am.

And what do we get from the White House in response to the violence? Evasion from Jay Carney, naturally.

Crowder gave his firsthand account of the ordeal. Crowder said, “I’m not that hurt.
Listen, it was more mentally shaking to see this happen. It was more upsetting to get home and see my wife so upset. I went out there and leftists right now are saying that I deserved the beating that I got, completely physically unprovoked. […] The reason for that is that I did go in and apparently I provoked it by asking them why they were against right-to-work.”

Addressing the person who punched him, Crowder said, “I am issuing an ultimatum right now. They are trying to find this man who assaulted me, find this man who assaulted other people. And you have a choice, you can come forward, I’ll press charges, you’ll go to jail. Or since you wanted to cheap shot me, we can host a bout in a sanctioned, legalized MMA competition, where the winner will get the money to go to the charity of his choice. So all of this money that’s been raised to have this man prosecuted and put in jail, I will match that and donate it to the union of his choice.”

Sean Hannity asked Crowder why he didn’t fight back while he was being attacked. Crowder said he knew it would prove nothing and he truly believes that if he had defended himself, “they would’ve killed me where I stood.”

You'd think the media would be all over this - video of an unprovoked attack on a reporter.

They would be all over it if Crowder shared their liberal views.

Elmo: Fourth Accuser

Kevin Clash, the man who brought the beloved Elmo to life on Sesame Street, is facing another lawsuit for having sex with a minor.

From the New York Post:

The fourth man to accuse “Sesame Street" puppeteer Kevin Clash of inappropriate sexual contact says the older man couldn’t get it up when the two were getting it on in Clash’s New York City pad around 1995, according the alleged victim’s civil lawsuit filed today in Manhattan Federal Court.

At the time, Clash, then 35, blamed his penis problems on an unspecified “medical condition,” the lawsuit said.

The accuser, who is now in his 30s, said he was around 16 when he met Clash walking on a Miami beach and that the pair kept in touch over the phone.

After learning that the accuser had problems at home and wanted to run away, Clash, the squeaky voice of Elmo, promised to “be a dad” to him and lured him to the city “with promises to pay for his plane ticket ... and give him cash and a free place to stay,” the lawsuit said. The accuser was allegedly sexually abused after visiting Clash.
Innocent until proven guilty, of course. But, this is really scandalous.

Usually, when a public figure is involved in something as salacious as this, it's not ignored in monologues on late night talk shows. It's fodder for jokes.

For some reason, Kevin Clash is being spared. I haven't heard Jay Leno or Jimmy Fallon do a single joke about Elmo, the child abuser. Not one.

If Clash worked for FOX News, the Leftist comedians would be having a field day.

Texas Petition to Secede

The United States without Texas?

From ABC News:

A petition for Texas to secede from the union, submitted to the White House, reached the number of signatures needed to draw comment from the Obama administration today.

The petition appeared on a section of the White House website called "We the People" that invites users with a U.S. zip code to submit or sign petitions about policy changes they would like to see. A petition must reach 25,000 signatures within 30 days for the administration to comment on it.

The petition to "Peacefully grant the State of Texas to withdraw from the United States of America and create its own NEW government," was submitted on Friday of last week. Just three days later, it zoomed past the 25,000 mark at 3:22 p.m. today and kept going.

In order to sign a petition, users must register with the site using a valid email address and entering their zip code. The site's terms of participation indicates it has mechanisms in place to block spam, but it does not say anything about verifying zip codes or state residency.

...At least 17 other states have similar petitions to the Texas secession request on the We the People forum including New Jersey, New York, Montana, Colorado, Louisiana, Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Indiana, North Carolina, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, South Carolina, Oregon and Michigan. The closest behind Texas was Louisiana with 15,617 signatures.

In 2009, Texas Gov. Rick Perry hinted that anti-Washington sentiment could lead residents of his state to seek independence from the union.

...So far, the president has not commented on the petition and there is no guarantee that he will. The terms of participation give the president some loopholes.

"To avoid the appearance of improper influence, the White House may decline to address certain procurement, law enforcement, adjudicatory, or similar matters properly within the jurisdiction of federal departments or agencies, federal courts, or state and local government in its response to a petition," the site says.
A couple of days ago, we were talking about the U.S. splitting up, due to irreconcilable differences.

It's an interesting thought.

Given the great divide in the country, I would love to leave the liberals to their leeching ways without a host.

To be clear, I consider the leeches the people who have made a career out of government dependency. They're fully capable of working but they don't, the "gimme" crowd, the irresponsible.

They aren't the same as people receiving benefits they've earned. They aren't the same as people in crisis. Caring for those in need is a moral obligation. Intentionally creating a society of the needy, enslaving people with government entitlements, creating government addicts, is immoral.

In the event of secession, the country of dependents would crumble and the country made of people who value freedom and believe they are capable of determining their destiny would prosper.

Secession is tempting.

I'd like Wisconsin to secede, but how could we leave Milwaukee and Madison behind?

Milwaukee would be easy enough to drop because it's located on the state's eastern border. Madison would be more messy. Maybe we could get the Madison libs to move to Milwaukee.

I'm so sick of working hard and being responsible, only to pick up the bill for the irresponsible and lazy.

A sure sign that I've reached my breaking point is that the notion of seceding from the Union is something even remotely desirable.

What will Obama do with four more years, especially with his "flexibility"? I shudder at the thought.

I certainly don't want to leave America. I love my country. But the thing is I feel like America is leaving me. Obama's America isn't the same country that so many fought and died to defend. Obama and his cohorts are fundamentally transforming my beloved homeland into something other than the land of the free.

Yes, it's depressing. It helps to remember that half of us have a very different vision. We still believe in the American Dream and see America as the land of opportunity. We want to take responsibility for ourselves. We don't want government to control our lives.

Time to secede?

No, of course not.

Time to read the Declaration of Independence?

Yes.

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

Chris Matthews Boycott

Chris Matthews' comment about being "so glad" Hurricane Sandy hit the week before the presidential election was shockingly insensitive. Even for Matthews, someone who constantly says terribly unfair and inappropriate things, this was way over the line. Dozens were killed and millions suffered as a result of the storm, but it helped elect Obama for a second term - a good thing in Matthews' warped world.

CHRIS MATTHEWS: Let me just close my thoughts tonight. It takes a half a second. I am so proud of the country, to reelect this president and overcoming, not because of the partisanship or any of the, even the policies. Just the fact, here's an African guy, African-American guy from an unusual background, part immigrant background, part African-American background, with all this assault on him from day one, from Mitch McConnell, from the clowns out there that aren't elected and never will be to anything. And the way he took it, as somebody said it, with coolness and charm and dignity and just took it and took it and kept moving forward and doing his job.... Good work for him. A good day for America. I'm so glad we had that storm last week, 'cause I think the storm was one of those things, no, politically I should say, not in terms of hurting people. The storm brought in possibilities for good politics.

Matthews has apologized.

So?

Why should we accept his apology?

Where's the boycott on Matthews?

Rush Limbaugh made inappropriate remarks about Sandra Fluke. He apologized. That wasn't good enough for the Leftists. The first shot had been fired and nothing was going to stop the Democrats' "War on Women" strategy.

They waged a war on Limbaugh, with an all-out assault to get him off the air by pressuring his sponsors to dump him.

Obama placed a high profile phone call to Fluke. He was so concerned about her. (Of course, he sends the families of our war dead form letters.)

Why is Matthews getting off the hook so easily? Why aren't his sponsors being pressured to drop him? Why hasn't MSNBC fired him for his truly despicable statements?

Apparently, some apologies are accepted and some apologies will never be accepted.

If you're a Leftist, you'll be forgiven. If you're a conservative, you're unforgivable.

Stephen and Nancy Einhorn - Voter Fraud Billboards

Dan Bice, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, seems to enjoy causing conservatives grief, with no concern for their families.

That's the case with Stephen and Nancy Einhorn. The couple who paid for the voter fraud billboards in Wisconsin had a contract with Clear Channel Outdoor, permitting them to remain anonymous.

The Leftists had a hissy fit over the innocuous billboards. They claimed they were racist, placed in minority neighborhoods, meant to cause fear and suppress the vote.

How does a factual message about the law, "voter fraud is a felony," suppress the vote?

It doesn't. There was nothing sinister about the billboards.

The Left's witch hunt resulted in exposing the Einhorns.

Bice and the Journal Sentinel determined the revelation newsworthy. So, Bice writes about the Einhorns and provides information about their family, more than just the family name.

What's the purpose, other than to give the Leftists another target for harassment?

From Bice's exposé:

Scot Ross, executive director of One Wisconsin Now, issued a statement Monday raising several questions for the Einhorns.

"Perhaps their Chicago public relations firm could answer why the Einhorns only felt it was necessary to target legal voters in minority communities, and why they didn’t feel the need to do this 'public service' throughout communities across Wisconsin where a majority of the residents are white," Ross asked in his email. "Or put their name on it, rather than hiding behind the cowardly veil of anonymity."
This is crap.

The Einhorns did not only feel it was "necessary to target legal voters in minority communities." That's completely distorting the message.

I was aware of a billboard in a Wisconsin community where the overwhelming majority of residents are white.

The billboard was on Port Washington Road in Ozaukee County, just north of Highway C.

It was NOT even close to being in a Milwaukee inner city minority neighborhood. This billboard was not in an African-American or Hispanic area.

This campaign against the billboards and the Einhorns is dishonest, but that doesn't stop Bice from picking up the Left's deceptive narrative. It doesn't stop him from propping it up, revealing that the Einhorns made donations to Republican politicians, including Scott Walker. (GASP!)

Clear Channel Outdoor buckled under pressure from the very unreasonable Left. I guess Clear Channel Outdoor was afraid to take on the race card.

I commend the Einhorns for caring about the integrity of our elections. They deserve our support and gratitude.

Voter fraud should concern everyone, regardless of one's skin color or political affiliation.

Clean, fair elections should be a goal for all. Voter fraud disenfranchises every legal voter. It's a crime.

The Einhorns should not have been treated this way. What crime did they commit? Exercising free speech and simply stating the LAW, sending a message meant to uphold our electoral process.

The fact that they were bullied into taking down the billboards by the hysterical Left is a disgrace. The fact that Clear Channel Outdoor betrayed them is inexcusable.

Colin Powell Endorses Obama (Video)

No surprise, Colin Powell, alleged Republican or one-time Republican or whatever, has declared he's voting for Obama once again.

If the Obama campaign thinks this will be a significant boost, that's a major miscalculation.

Powell is voting for Obama. WHO CARES?

If it made a difference in 2008, it certainly won't make a difference in 2012.

Frankly, I would have been surprised if he announced his endorsement of Mitt Romney.

Powell showed in 2008 that he has no strong conservative principles. Tell me something I don't know.

Romney Coming to Wisconsin

Mitt Romney is to travel to Wisconsin, a state Barack Obama won in a 14-point blowout four years ago, as the Republican candidate's surging campaign seeks to expand the 'chessboard' into previously safe Democratic territory.

At the same time, the Romney campaign has bought television advertising in the Boston market, which reaches screens in New Hampshire, a state Obama won by almost 10 points in 2008.

Asked whether Romney himself would be visiting Wisconsin in the closing days of the race, Eric Fehrnstrom, a senior Romney adviser, said: 'Yes. Paul Ryan was just in Pittsburgh. We'll be back in Wisconsin, sure. Wisconsin is definitely in play.'
Of course, having favorite son Paul Ryan on the ticket as the vice presidential nominee, a first for a Wisconsinite, is a huge boost for the Romney campaign in the state.

But I think there's another reason Wisconsin is in play.

Thank you, Democrats/union members! Thanks for energizing Wisconsin with the Scott Walker recall!

All those voters who turned out to make Walker the first governor in American history to survive a recall are still organized and ready to roll.

Just a few months ago, on June 5, we rejected Democrat Tom Barrett, three-time gubernatorial loser, and his liberal agenda, by a wide margin.

Wisconsin is ready to reject the failed policies of Obama, as well as the radicalism of Tammy Baldwin.

We rejected big government and fiscal irresponsibility for our state in a big way. We'll do the same for our country.

Sean Kedzie, Romney Yard Sign Beating (Audio)

Sean Kedzie, 22-year-old son of Wisconsin State Senator Neal Kedzie, was beaten early Friday morning by two thugs.

It all started when the thugs were stealing Sean's Mitt Romney yard sign.

Early on Friday morning, October 19th, my son Sean was awakened by noises outside his residence in Whitewater. As he went to see what the commotion was about, he noticed an individual removing a Romney/Ryan yard sign from his property. He yelled to the person that they were taking something not theirs and to return it immediately. The individual returned the sign, however, a second person confronted and attacked Sean without warning.

Sean was wrestled to the ground by both persons, held down by a constricting chokehold, and struck repeatedly about the face and head. He nearly passed out from the chokehold and suffered contusions to his face and eyes.

Fortunately, an alert neighbor heard the commotion, scared the individuals away, and called the police. My wife and I were awakened by a telephone call from Sean’s roommate that Sean had been taken by ambulance to Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital.

Sean was treated for his injuries and released from the hospital the same day. As this was a private family matter, we chose not to remark publicly about it and allow law enforcement to do their job. But we understand these types of incidents will eventually become public and questions will arise, particularly in my position as a state legislator.

Sean is still recovering from the injuries he sustained as a result of this beating, and we are confident he will make a full recovery. But obviously, as parents, we are shaken by this event and very troubled it was apparently initiated and motivated for political reasons.

Sean described the details of the beating and the extent of his injuries.

When Sean first engaged the two college-age males who stole his sign, they were about 20 to 30 yards away. He called to them, telling them to bring the sign back.

One guy apologized, saying he was really sorry. He put it back in the yard, as his friend came around the side of Sean. They both jumped him. He was choked and punched repeatedly in the head.

During the beating, the two males said things like, "F*** Romney" and "Romney sucks" and "Go Obama."

The assault was so brutal that the emergency room physician treating Sean was concerned that he might have skull fractures or a fractured eye socket. He said his left eye was injured so severely that it was swollen shut and he couldn't see.

This appears to be a politically motivated assault. Without question, it has political elements. Take note, Americans.

This is why in some areas of Wisconsin, conservatives fear expressing our support for Republican candidates.

In this case, the thugs became physically violent. The attack wasn't just a verbal lashing or a matter of damaging property.

Sean said the choking was so extreme he was starting to blackout. He said the grip on his throat was so tight he couldn't spit out the word "please" to get them to stop.

Thankfully, Sean didn't receive any long-term injuries. But those doing the beating certainly didn't know that their extreme barbarism wouldn't leave Sean with permanent damage or worse.

This is sickening.

I think Obama should call Sean, to show his concern. After all, he found time to call Sandra Fluke. Obama should condemn the thugs, his own supporters. He won't. Obama's supporters won't condemn the thugs' actions either. They'll ignore it. The liberal media will likely do the same, until they can talk to the thugs and interview them.

As Sean said, "If this is what democracy looks like, then we are in a lot more trouble than we realized."

Sadly, this is what things have come to in Wisconsin.

Thugs may be successful at intimidating us to openly show our support for Mitt Romney, just as they did during the Leftists' failed recall of Gov. Scott Walker.

But we won't be intimidated at the polls.

This beating will be avenged, peacefully, each time one of us casts a vote from Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan.

    United Nations Election Monitors at U.S. Polls

    The United Nations should not be messing with our elections.

    From The Hill:

    United Nations-affiliated election monitors from Europe and central Asia will be at polling places around the U.S. looking for voter suppression activities by conservative groups, a concern raised by civil rights groups during a meeting this week. The intervention has drawn criticism from a prominent conservative-leaning group combating election fraud.

    The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), a United Nations partner on democratization and human rights projects, will deploy 44 observers around the county on Election Day to monitor an array of activities, including potential disputes at polling places.

    Liberal-leaning civil rights groups met with representatives from the OSCE this week to raise their fears about what they say are systematic efforts to suppress minority voters likely to vote for President Obama.

    The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, the NAACP and the ACLU, among other groups, warned this month in a letter to Daan Everts, a senior official with OSCE, of “a coordinated political effort to disenfranchise millions of Americans — particularly traditionally disenfranchised groups like minorities.”

    The request for foreign monitoring of election sites drew a strong rebuke from Catherine Engelbrecht, founder and president of True the Vote, a conservative-leaning group seeking to crack down on election fraud.

    “These activist groups sought assistance not from American sources, but from the United Nations,” she said in a statement to The Hill. “The United Nations has no jurisdiction over American elections.”

    The observers, from countries such as Germany, France, Serbia, Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan, will observe voting at polling places and other political activity.

    The only coordinated political effort to disenfranchise MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of Americans is by the Leftists, those blocking voter ID as a measure to protect the integrity of our elections.

    The thought of observers from Germany, France, Serbia, Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan overseeing our elections makes me sick.

    It's quite telling that the Leftists are showing allegiance to the UN rather than the U.S.

    For the sake of our children and our children's children, we have to take our country back now.
