Leno and Jokes For the Other 50% of Country

I completely disagree with Matt Drudge's tweet that Jay Leno "dared to entertain and offer jokes for the other 50% of country."

Yes, some Leftists may object to Leno's rare Obama jokes and are eagerly awaiting his departure.

As a conservative, I am cheering Leno's departure because he has veered so far to the Left, trashing the Right on a nightly basis.

He does it all the time, and not only in his monologues. Leno recently has brought in a line-up of Leftists in his second guest spot to help him trash Republicans. We get NBC "News" personalities up the wazoo, spewing their Leftist drivel. Not long ago, Leno gave Piers Morgan a spotlight platform to lobby for gun control. Way too much Leftist propaganda for me.

Here are some of Leno's "jokes for the other 50% of country" from Thursday's show:

JAY LENO: Well, here's a big controversy with the History Channel's mini-series The Bible. Well, it seems the actor playing Satan bears an uncanny resemblance to President Obama. You know, this isn't the first time the president's been portrayed as the devil. FOX News does it every single day. This is not new.

And Congresswoman Michele 'Nutball' Bachmann back in the news -- She has attacked what she calls the Obamas' lavish White House lifestyle. She says they spend too much money on perks and things like a dog walker. That turns out to be totally not true. The Obamas do not pay someone to walk their dog. Joe Biden does that job every day for free.

This was followed by a clip of Obama being heckled during a speech in Israel. The tape showed the heckler to be Donald Trump.

The next joke:

LENO: Well, after losing two presidential elections in a row, the Republican Party has outlined a plan to attract minorities. It's called 'Operation Pretend We Like 'Em.'

Not funny, in my opinion. Not entertaining. Not a grain of truth.

No joke Leno told mocked Obama or his policies, but he obviously did slam Republicans.

I think Drudge is living in the past, when Leno was more fair.

While Leno will occasionally throw in a joke that zings Obama, without question, Leno's monologue is not fair and balanced. He does not offer many "jokes for the other 50% of country."

Thursday night, Leno did do a gag about Nancy Pelosi endorsing a new, highly caffeinated coffee, showing a container with her face, eyes bugged out. That and the Biden swipe were the only so-called jokes involving Democrats. Those don't remotely balance out with Leno's attacks on Republicans.

Leno is still telling stale Mitt Romney jokes. Then again, "It Guy" Jimmy Fallon is, too.

Bottom line: Drudge is wrong.

Could Jay Leno become a new conservative hero?

In the bitter and gossipy duel between Leno and NBC (the “Tonight Show” host is set to be replaced by Jimmy Fallon, according to reports), some see political fallout in Leno’s fall from grace.

“Left cheering Leno exit typical, he dared to entertain and offer jokes for the other 50% of country. Unacceptable in ‘New America’…” tweeted Matt Drudge this week in the wake of news of Fallon’s ascension. And Jezebel touched on Leno’s rough relationship with the coastal elites, describing him as “Middle America’s favorite late-night host.”

Fox News’ “The Five” speculated, if slightly in jest as is the show’s wont, that Leno was suffering for his barbs against President Barack Obama.

...Perhaps conservatives will be cheering when they hear this - Leno could land at Fox.

...Matt Towery wrote on the conservative Town Hall website that Leno – despite being a liberal – is like “Barry Goldwater” when compared with David Letterman.

"...I know that Jay Leno, like most on network TV, is a self-proclaimed ‘liberal,’ but I could care less. Next to David Letterman, he looks like Barry Goldwater,” Tower wrote.

Towery described Leno as an “equal opportunity offender” comic, who doesn’t back away from poking fun at Democrats when it’s warranted.

“The critics generally hate Leno, because to them he’s too much a part of ‘average’ America. He doesn’t have the endless—and I mean endless — sarcasm of Letterman and actually refrains from attacking people. He’s not cutting edge. He’s too much the apple pie American. Oh and he’s too funny to a majority of Americans,” Towery wrote.

This is driving me nuts.

If Leno is a "conservative hero," then conservatives have terrible judgment when it comes to choosing heroes.

I don't think these commentators watch past the monologue. They really don't know what they're talking about. They don't know how much Leno has changed since his return to NBC as host of the Tonight Show.

I never tune in to watch Letterman anymore. He's been a nightmare for over a decade. I can't stand him. It's kind of sad because I really used to enjoy him, but those days are long gone. I know he's an insufferable lib. He's cruel. He's horrible.

But Leno is not the person being portrayed in the media right now. This idea that Leno offers conservative stuff, even middle-of-the-road stuff, is ridiculous.

On the conservative-liberal spectrum, Letterman would out lib Leno; but Leno is no conservative hero.

Will NBC push Jay Leno out of his role as host of The Tonight Show?

NBC is ready to announce Jay Leno’s retirement, expecting to move Jimmy Fallon into the coveted late-night time slot, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The announcement is expected in May, according to two high-level industry sources. The 2013-14 television season would be Leno’s last, according to the paper.

Fallon would then move from his “Late Night” spot into the 11:35 p.m. slot during the summer of 2014. A formal kickoff would happen in the fall.

Sources told the Hollywood Reporter that the network will bring in Fallon partly out of concern about the competition on ABC, which moved younger-skewing Jimmy Kimmel to the 11:35 time slot in January.

Leno, 62, has hosted “The Tonight Show” for 20 years.

NBC denied the report. And Leno’s rep said, “we do not speculate on rumor.”

I really don't like Leno anymore.

I preferred Leno to Letterman after Letterman turned so loony and cruel. I used to enjoy Letterman much more than Leno. I thought he was more innovative and witty and funny, but that changed long ago.

Now, Leno has become nearly as annoying as Letterman, always injecting his Leftist opinions into interviews.

Leno is constantly bashing Republicans, except Chris Christie. I think he's head of his fan club. Leno is still doing Mitt Romney jokes. The other night, he did a Rick Perry joke! Meanwhile, Obama pretty much gets a free pass.

Personally, I'll be glad to see Leno go, when that time comes. The sooner the better.

However, I don't know why NBC wants Leno to leave, given that he's delivering in the ratings.

It's like the Conan O'Brien debacle revisited.

Overall, I find Jimmy Fallon's show far more enjoyable than Leno's show. But, he's beginning to bug me a bit, too.

The Obama lovefest is not entertaining.

I just want to relax and laugh at the end of the day.

A thought on how to address NBC's 5th place problems: Stop offending half the country.

Tony Kushner, 'Lincoln' Screenwriter, and Reagan Ideology

In an interview with Charlie Rose, Tony Kushner, screenwriter of the Oscar-nominated film Lincoln, reveals that he is positively delusional.

History tells us that Mary Todd Lincoln suffered from mental illness. There are questions about Abraham Lincoln's mental status, too. Is Kushner's break with reality an illness or is it the result of pure ignorance?

He calls the Ronald Reagan's view of the relationship between government and the people as "frightening," resulting in "psychotic individualism."

Say what???

Kushner bashes Reagan and conservatives, as well as Mitt Romney, as rejecting the "human community." He blasts the Tea Party. He equates Obama with Lincoln.

Crazy.

I have yet to see Lincoln. I wanted to see it, but it's going to be tough to watch knowing that the insufferable Kushner views Obama as similar to the president charged with serving during the CIVIL WAR. I knew Kushner is a liberal but I didn't realize he's as nuts as he is.

Does the movie include the fact that Lincoln wanted to return freed slaves to Africa? Does it present such documented facts?

Krauthammer: Geithner's 'Insulting' Deal (Video)

Charles Krauthammer gives his take on the "fiscal cliff" deal offered by Timothy Geithner yesterday.

CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: It's not just a bad deal. This is really an insulting deal. What Geithner offered, what you showed on the screen, Robert E. Lee was offered easier terms at Appomattox, and he had lost a civil war.

The Democrats have won by three percent of the vote and they did not hold the House. Republicans won the House, so this is not exactly unconditional surrender, but that's what the administration is asking of the Republicans.

This idea there not only are no cuts in this, there's an increase in spending with a new stimulus. I mean, this is almost unheard of. I mean, what do they expect? They obviously expect the Republicans will cave on everything. I think the Republicans ought to simply walk away.

The president is the president. He's the leader. They are demanding that Republicans explain all the cuts that they want to make. We had that movie a year and a half ago where Paul Ryan presented a budget, a serious, real budget with real cuts.

Obama was supposed to give a speech in which he would respond with a counter offer. And what did he do? He gave a speech where he had Ryan sitting in the front row. He called the Ryan proposal un-American, insulted him, offered nothing, and ran on Medi-scare in the next 18 months. And they expect Republicans are going to do this again?

The Republicans are going to walk on this, and I think they have leverage. Yes, for Congressional Democrats, it will help them in the future if Republicans absorb the blame, because we're going to have a recession.

But Obama's not running again, unlike the Congressional Democrats. He's going to have a recession, 9 percent unemployment, 2 million more unemployed, and a second term that's going to be a ruin.

I do find Obama's cockiness and arrogance and flat-out incompetence to be stunning.

I can't help but think of what might have been.

Everything would be so different right now if Romney and Ryan had won.

Cardinal Dolan: HHS Mandate - Catholics Won't Give In

At his news conference on Wednesday, Obama insisted the American people gave him a mandate to pursue his agenda.

Is Obama really that delusional?

Does his failure to acknowledge that half the country voted for Mitt Romney to be the president, making the mandate claim absurd, point to his arrogance?

Whatever, Obama's second term isn't going to be smooth sailing. He needs to admit that reality.

The divisiveness he campaigned on is going to come back to bite him.

His oppression of Catholics isn't going to be accepted by Church leaders.

Cardinal Timothy Dolan realizes Catholics must fight Obama's war on the Church and religious liberty in general.

Dolan asserted that the Church will not comply with the mandate that requires most employers, even those affiliated with religious organizations, to provide free contraception, sterilization, and abortifacients through health insurance plans.

“The only thing we’re certainly not prepared to do is give in,” Dolan said at a news conference. “Not violate our consciences, and not obey what we consider to be something immoral. That we’re committed on.”

Dozens of Catholic dioceses and other Catholic organizations have filed lawsuits in federal courts over the mandate, which is included in ObamaCare.

Though Cardinal Dolan admitted the bishops waited until after Election Day to see if the results of the election could change the health care requirements, he said, “now I think the bishops have taken a deep breath and said, we better get back to work and decide just what we are going to do.”

Dolan stated that though the Church is still willing to work with the administration, “I would say no door is closed except for the door to capitulation.”

I am so thankful for leaders like Cardinal Dolan.

He's not surrendering to Obama. He won't accept his assault on our fundamental freedom to exercise our religion. He won't give in.

Catholics and Obama

As a Catholic, the results of the presidential election have been difficult for me to process.

Catholics chose Obama over Mitt Romney.

The fact is Mitt Romney acts like a better Catholic than most Catholics in America.

Overwhelmingly, Hispanic Catholics voted for the most radical pro-abortion president in American history.

In spite of Obama's assault on the BILL OF RIGHTS and religious liberty, targeting Catholics, Hispanic Catholics voted for Obama.

Although Romney won among white Catholics, many of them also ignored Obama's stunning extremism on abortion and his attack on one of our fundamental freedoms, choosing to vote for Obama.

Obama waged war on the Catholic Church in America and he still won the Catholic vote.

He bet on the fact that most Catholics' faith is not a priority in their lives, and he won. He was right.

I'm shaken by that.

Reuters/Ipsos exit polling found that 51 percent of Catholics favored President Barack Obama, compared with 48 percent for Republican contender Mitt Romney. A report by the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life had a similar finding, with 50 percent of Catholics for Obama and 48 percent for Romney, the same as the popular vote in the general population.

Hispanic Catholics were far more likely to favor Obama - by 76 percent to 23 percent - than white Catholics, who favored Romney by 56 percent to 43 percent, according to the Reuters poll. Black Protestants favored Obama by 97 percent to 3 percent, while white Protestants favored Romney by 69 percent compared to 29 percent for Obama.

"When you talk about Catholics, there are really two Catholic votes, the white vote and the Hispanic vote, which look starkly different," said Robert Jones, chief executive of the Public Religion Research Institute. He said exit polls found that overall, voters were focused mainly on economic issues.

This election year saw strong advocacy on the conservative side of some issues by Catholic bishops, which caused discomfort for liberal Catholics. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops protested the Obama administration's health care mandate which requires Catholic hospitals and colleges to carry insurance that provides free contraception as a violation of religious liberty.

...The bishops' stands did not seem to have much influence on the vote, said Jones. Catholic attitudes on the healthcare mandate were unchanged in March and September polls, despite advocacy by church leaders.

"If the (Republican Party) has some reflecting to do about its inability to reach an increasingly multicultural country, Catholic leaders could benefit from similar soul searching when it comes to their own diverse flock," said John Gehring, Catholic program director at Faith in Public Life, a liberal advocacy group.

Liberal John Gehring believes the Republican Party and Catholic leaders need to bend to fit his agenda, one that does not include respect for LIFE and respect for the CONSTITUTION, religious liberty.

I completely disagree.

Catholic leaders are failing, but not because they need to "soul search" their way to mirroring the majority of voters self-identified as Catholics. The leaders are failing because they aren't communicating as they should. So much of Catholic teaching is ignored.

It seems many priests are comfortable with that, avoiding issues that are controversial.

Yes, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Milwaukee Archbishop Jerome Listecki, and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops did take on Obama and his abuse of Catholics' freedom. They are to be commended for that. They issued strong statements expressing their concerns and organized efforts to raise of awareness of Obama's abuse.

But that's pretty much where it stopped.

While at Mass this weekend, I was thinking about how little is said by priests to guide Church members when it comes to practicing our faith in a way that reflects Catholic teaching.

There seems to be a great effort not to offend, a lot of sitting on the fence. There's a certain cowardice that is disturbing.

I was sitting in the pew, truly troubled about the lack of backbone, the weekly sins of omission that occur at Mass during the homily.

I'm still really upset about the results of the election. I'm fearful about the future. I was hoping for change, for things to get better for my family and friends, to get back on track. Adding to my uncertainty is how I feel about my Church.

To say I'm disillusioned is an understatement.

Election 2012: Many American Women Are Stupid

I am proud NOT to be one of the women who voted for Obama.

The gender gap in the 2012 presidential election was the largest since Gallup began tracking the metric in 1952, according to data released by the polling firm on Friday.


President Obama won women by 12 percentage points, while Mitt Romney won men by 8. That’s a 20-point gender gap, edging out the 1984 election when Ronald Reagan defeated Democrat Walter Mondale in a landslide.

...The politics of gender played a significant role throughout the 2012 election, as Romney looked to cut into Obama’s advantage among female voters by framing the economy as a women’s issue.

The strategy worked for a while, as polls showed women flocking to the GOP challenger after his strong first debate performance. But Romney was unable to hold on to those gains in the final weeks of the campaign, and the Obama campaign relentlessly portrayed the GOP candidate as a throwback to the 1950s in his views on women's reproductive and pay equity issues.

Romney may also have been hurt by two Republican House candidates, former Rep. Todd Akin (R-Mo.) and Indiana State Treasurer Richard Mourdock. Both Senate candidates, who lost their election bids, made controversial comments about rape and abortion that reignited the Democratic line of attack from earlier in the cycle that the GOP is looking to “turn back the clock” on women’s issues.

American women who actually bought into the Democrats' claim that Mitt Romney was the enemy of women and intended to "turn back the clock" on women's issues are embarrassingly ignorant.

The Democrats should not be proud that their idiotic "War on Women" crap worked. It's pathetic.

Apparently, the reality is a lot of American women are just plain stupid.

Good Lord, if they are so empty-headed that they don't realize that the economy most definitely is a women's issue and critical to their health and well-being, then they're hopelessly backward.

Really, how clueless can they be?

Those ads painting Romney as bent on "getting rid" of Planned Parenthood were thoroughly deceptive.

Obama and the Democrats, as we know, are shameless. They will say anything.

Contraception? A game-changer?

How sad!

I guess one problem for the Romney campaign was that it gave American women too much credit.

At least some of us don't need the big, strong government to take care of our every need.

We're strong. We understood what was at stake in this election and we voted for Romney.

Mitt Romney may have lost the White House, but for a brief time Wednesday a transition website went live — calling him "President-Elect" and offering Americans a view of a presidency that might have been.

The site was only up temporarily, but screen grabs preserved by Politicalwire.com show Romney's team was ready to roll with information about the Jan. 21 presidential inauguration and future Cabinet nominees.

...SolutionStream, the Utah-based company that designed the site, didn't say why the mock-up went live, but confirmed it was ready to go if Romney had defeated President Obama on Tuesday. The former governor of Massachusetts fell short of beating the President, who was marching closer to winning Florida on Thursday and bringing his electoral vote count to 332 vs. Romney’s 206.

Jason Thelin, an owner of SolutionStream, told The Huffington Post that the site was a “tiny” project and was thrown together in a day and a half.

His company was contacted by Romney transition volunteers about 10 days before the election, he said.

After The Huffington Post inquired about the site Wednesday, it was soon taken down.

According to Politico, Romney’s transition team — called “The Readiness Project” — was being led by Mike Leavitt, the former Health and Human Services secretary under President George W. Bush and a former Utah governor. Romney’s campaign had not been eager to talk about his transition plans before the election.

But the website gave a sense of what Romney would have done had he won.

“On his first day in office, Mitt Romney will issue an executive order that paves the way for the federal government to issue Affordable Care Act waivers to all 50 states,” according to a section called “Repealing the Affordable Care Act.” “He will then work with Congress to repeal the full legislation as quickly as possible.”

Oh, my God.

EVERYTHING could have been so different.

Instead of this overwhelming, all-encompassing sense of impending doom, I'd be hopeful and optimistic and so relieved.

You know that feeling of relief you have when a crisis is averted, when your worst fears vanish?

What might have been, what might have been.

It was possible, but a few million Republican voters shamefully decided to sit this one out.

If transforming America was their intent, congratulations to them. Their goal is on the road to realization.

In Obama strongholds, the turnout was massive. In the city Milwaukee, 87 percent of registered voters cast ballots.

That's close to the sort of voter turnout Saddam Hussein would get.

Dramatically more Milwaukeeans voted in 2012 than in 2008!

Eighty-seven percent turnout is better than attendance on a given day in some failing Milwaukee Public High Schools, with 60 percent truancy.

I don't understand why people came out in droves to obstruct a change in leadership that would have brought back jobs and prosperity and respect for our most fundamental freedoms. Loyalty to Obama is nice but voting for failure is not smart. Voting for free stuff is stunningly short-sighted.

Some Americans really love free contraceptives and abortion on demand, don't they?

Economic growth? Jobs?

Who cares?  Working is for chumps.

Dennis Miller: 'Mr. Romney, I'm Proud of You' (Video)

Speaking the day after the election, Dennis Miller articulated what I've been feeling about the election, Mitt Romney, and the future of America under Obama:

I want to say that I've met Romney. Folks, I know a lot of you have been convinced out there that this guy's the problem with America. He's not. He's a very good man. He cares greatly for this country. I've actually talked to him in the last, well, emailed him in the last day. He's a great patriot. I know that that side's gonna paint him as the trouble with America. If he's the trouble with America, folks, this country does have a lot, a lot of problems.

...

This man has been run through the wringer over the last year. Joe Biden has said he wants to put people back in chains. That's not the case, and I want to say, 'Mr. Romney, I'm proud of you. I think you're a good man. I don't care what the other side says about you being the problem with America.'

...

Yesterday, some people think this was the best day America's ever had, its proudest moment. I don't agree. I'm sorry, and I know that's gonna make me demonized. I know that I'm gonna be the object of revenge now, but I'm not gonna back off it.

I like a country where people bust their tuckus, and I think this country's gone a long way towards becoming more of a European model. And I would say, once again, read the book, Amity Shlaes' book, The Forgotten Man. If you are out there now making $45,000 a year, busting your hump, being away from your family because it's in your hard drive to do the 'right thing'-- the 'right thing' changed in this country yesterday.

Agreed.

This is what America in decline looks like.

What's with Obama?

What's with all the blubbering?

He was crying in public the night before the election.

Now, after winning, the guy is still crying openly. On Wednesday, he broke down in tears again.

This is getting ridiculous.

Obama is like the blubbering John Boehner.

While President Obama proved himself a polished fighter on the campaign trail, a video taken the day after his election victory showed him emotionally raw.

With a second term on the horizon, the President on Wednesday returned to his Obama for America headquarters in Chicago to thank his young campaign staff — and was visibly choked up in the process.

During his four years in the White House, Americans have seen Obama give soaring speeches, dance and even belt out a tune or two, but never cry so openly.

Creepy. The arrogant, aloof, cold, cruel Obama never showed this kind of emotion before.

It's completely out of character.

Does Obama feel guilty about what he did to Mitt Romney, how he stooped so low and flat-out lied about this truly decent man?

Does Romney's class and goodness make Obama realize his dirty campaign was offensive and stunningly divisive? Does Obama regret "Borking" Romney?

Perhaps Obama know he's a failure.

I doubt it. I don't think he sees any of these things that way.

His tears aren't related to other people. They come during self-reflection. The weeping is self-centered. Me, me, me. Boo hoo. Being president is tough. I'm touched by how much you love ME. Waah!

Whatever, he's falling apart. He seems very fragile. Maybe it's exhaustion. Maybe he's afraid he's not up to the job. (He'd be right. We have his first term as evidence.) Maybe part of him would have been relieved if he had lost. That would have freed him from the mess he made. Maybe he fears being held accountable.

I don't know, but Obama needs to quit crying in public. Man up.

No Hope, No Change

Congratulations to Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan for working so hard and coming so close to winning and putting our country back on track.

I'm hearing pundits say that Romney didn't articulate the conservative position well. I disagree.

He did an excellent job. He's a good man.

I'm so proud of fellow Wisconsinite Paul Ryan, for all he's done and all he'll continue to do to help our country.

Thanks to another Wisconsin son, Reince Priebus, for his efforts as RNC Chairman.

A victory was so close, but instead, more Americans voted for four more years of Obama. This is what "revenge" looks like. No hope, no change.

Obama is chipping away at our freedom. Religious liberty is under assault in our nation, something I thought was unthinkable. When a president spits on the Bill of Rights, there's a problem.

Catholics, vote against this tyranny. People of all faiths, vote for religious liberty. Vote against Obama and Democrat candidates.

My fellow Wisconsinites, vote against the radical Leftist Tammy Baldwin.

We fired Russ Feingold, something that was supposedly impossible. We voted him out of office, and told him to hit the road, replacing him with the great Ron Johnson. Let's send Tommy Thompson to the U.S. Senate to join him.

We can do it.

My fellow Scott Walker supporters, let's do what we did on November 2, 2010, when we shellacked the Democrats. Let's do what we did on June 5, 2012, just a few months ago, when we smacked down the recall movement - the Democrats, Big Labor, and the White House.

The Scott Walker coalition is alive and well and ready to vote for change in Washington.

We desperately need change. Obama has been a disaster. This is a turning point, a time to choose the sort of America we want.

WE DON'T HAVE TO SETTLE. WE DON'T HAVE TO LIVE LIKE THIS.

Revenge or Love of Country?

With Election Day hours away, Obama is encouraging Americans to vote for revenge.

I suppose that would play well with his base. They're angry. They're about warfare - class warfare, an alleged war on women, murdering the weak, vulnerable, and unborn.

Here in Wisconsin, we witnessed the Leftists at their ugliest during the Scott Walker recall. We know how deranged they can be. We've seen them full of vengeance. We've seen what they do.

It makes sense that Obama would speak of revenge. Obama is divisive. He appeals to the Leftists' lesser selves. They're united in hate.

Mitt Romney is not at all like Obama. He's asking the American people to vote for love of country, not revenge.



I choose love of country.

I choose Mitt Romney.

Wisconsin State Journal Endorses Romney

Last week, the Wisconsin State Journal endorsed Tommy Thompson, shunning radical Leftist Tammy Baldwin.

That wasn't as surprising as its latest endorsement.

Our pick: Mitt Romney

Not enough hope and too little change.

That is President Barack Obama's record on the economy, debt and Washington gridlock after four years in the White House.

The State Journal editorial board endorses Mitt Romney in Tuesday's presidential election.

Romney showed as the Republican governor of Democratic-leaning Massachusetts that he can find agreement across the partisan divide. And his vice presidential pick — Wisconsin's U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Janesville — suggests Romney is serious about tackling America's fiscal mess.

Romney has an impressive record of success in the private and public sectors. He's a numbers guy who focuses more on results than ideology. That's why so many of his fellow Republicans during the GOP primary criticized him for not being conservative enough.

Romney has been a strong leader in business and civic life. This includes turning around many troubled companies and the 2002 Winter Olympics.

Romney better understands how and why entrepreneurs and employers decide to expand and add jobs. He's more likely to get the private-sector going strong again.

Romney displayed reasonableness and smarts during the debates. And his view on the most pressing foreign policy question — Iran — is similar to his opponent's.

Yes, Romney did his share of flip-flopping and pandering during the GOP primary to get past stubborn party stalwarts. Yes, Romney's talk of repealing the Affordable Care Act and boosting military spending are unrealistic. We disagree with Romney on a host of social issues, from marriage equality to abortion rights.

This is not an easy endorsement to make.

Obama is the more likeable candidate and inspiring speaker. Obama inherited a mess from his predecessor, Republican President George W. Bush, who was even more disappointing than Obama has been.

Obama got us out of Iraq. He pressured public schools to reform. He gave the final order that got Osama bin Laden.

But this election is about jobs, the slow economy and Washington's dysfunction. Our leaders can't even pass a budget, much less stabilize soaring debt that's burdening our children and grandchildren.

Obama failed to embrace his own commission's bipartisan debt deal. Ryan, serving on the commission, similarly balked at the solid and comprehensive agreement.

But Obama is the president. The buck stops with him. This is now Obama's economy, even though the GOP shares in the blame for partisan games.

It was Obama and his fellow Democrats who went it alone on health care, making subsequent deals even harder to find. It was Obama who too often let Congress steer the ship in circles. It still is Obama who hasn't laid out a clear vision for the next four years.

We endorsed Obama for change last time around. Now we're endorsing change again: Mitt Romney.

"Not enough hope and too little change."

That's what Obama delivered.

Four more years of that?

No way.

Want REAL change?

Vote Romney.

Obama: A 'PROP' Being Propped

Obama is a prop.

That sums up his presidency.

I assume Obama was about to go on to say that the people have the power in this campaign, not him.

That's true.

However, Obama's choice of words, that he's a prop, is as unfortunate as it is spot-on.

He's on stage, serving as part of the scene in the theatrics.

His role as a prop has been utterly ineffective. He's not really part of the action.

He's just there, an empty suit, not making things better via his policies or his leadership.

And then the instances when he abused the office and grabbed power, dictating and oppressing, the imperial president, Obama made things worse.

And then we have the mainstream media, "propping" up Obama, shamelessly hiding the truth from the American public, going AWOL time and time again, on Fast and Furious, Benghazi, the oppression of Catholics' religious liberty, even the economy.

The last four years the story has been the Leftists propping up the prop in chief.

Enough.

Time for REAL hope and REAL change.
